Every two years, Performa presents three weeks of live performances by exceptional American and international contemporary artists across New York City. Crossfire Event Production has been privileged to collaborate with Performa, providing technical support and expertise to showcase the organization’s groundbreaking artistic endeavors.
For Performa’s 2019 biennial kick-off, Crossfire Event Production transformed Fort Jay on Governor’s Island into a captivating artistic hub. We outfitted the venue with five articulating boom lifts, each equipped with an individual audio system, site-specific video and lighting, and power distribution. This intricate setup allowed for a dynamic and immersive viewing experience, complementing the visionary performances that unfolded.
Customizing outdoor sound systems for the five individual lifts presented a unique challenge and an opportunity for Crossfire’s team to shine. We relished the chance to apply our creative ingenuity and technical expertise to create a sound system that perfectly complemented the performance, ensuring that every nuance of the audio experience was delivered with clarity and precision.
The combination of Crossfire’s technical expertise with the visionary artistry of Performa’s performers resulted in an exceptional and unforgettable viewing experience. As the sun set over Manhattan, casting a warm glow over the intimate venue, the performances took on an otherworldly quality, captivating the audience with their blend of creativity, technology, and imagination.
